Sometimes with a brain injury and/or concussion, vision problems can go undetected during the initial treatment. When an individual's vision is compromised through a brain injury or concussion, the results can be profound. Because the brain plays such a big role in the visual process, any injury can disrupt it, resulting in vision problems.
Studies have shown that recovery from a brain injury or concussion can take anywhere from days to weeks to years, depending on the age of the injured and the severity of the concussion. In conjunction with other symptoms, there is the possibility that learning problems and returning to school too quickly can worsen symptoms.
There is a difference between sight and vision.
